The Centre for the Economics of Mental Health
The CEMH conducts research across the full range of
mental health issues from problems in childhood to the
mental illnesses associated with old age. Clinical topics
include schizophrenia, depression, social phobia, conduct
disorder, Alzheimer's disease and addictions. Prospective
and retrospective studies are conducted for pharmacological
and psychosocial treatments, for different community
care arrangements and for a variety of other interventions
and care modes. The staff at CEMH carry out work internationally
as well as here in the UK with one current particular
focus on mental health care in developing countries,
while cross-country comparisons are underway in a number
of therapeutic areas.
