PSSRU
at Manchester
The PSSRU at Manchester is located in
in the School of Medicine within the Faculty of Medical and Human Sciences. The School
is a large grouping encompassing clinical psychology
and social sciences as well as clinicians. Many of the
PSSRU staff at Manchester have significant experience
in field and managerial positions within health and
social services as well as in research. Within this
branch a small specialist library collection is developing
and it is planned to resource this further. The library
provides information to support the research interests
of staff and also forms part of the information function
of the North West Dementia Centre (NWDC), which provides
a service to professional colleagues within the region.
The Unit has a number of studies in progress relating
to the health and social care of older people. These
include evaluation and development of assessment approaches,
care management, service mapping and performance measurement.
The work at Manchester falls into two research programmes:
‘Co-ordinated Care, Care Management, Service Integration
and Partnerships’ and ‘Assessment, Performance
Measurement and User satisfaction in Older People’s
Services.’ Further details can be found on the
research page of this
website.
