Research Interests

Valentina Iemmi is a researcher in the areas of global mental health policy. She has been Research Fellow at the Personal Social Services Research Unit at the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE) since 2012.

Valentina obtained the title of clinical psychologist at the University of Paris (France) in 2006 and she graduated in health policy, planning and financing at the LSE and the London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine (United Kingdom) in 2009. Since 2006 she has been working in mental health policy for the for the WHO Collaborating Centre for Research and Training in Mental Health at the King's College London, the LSE Health, the International Centre for Evidence in Disability at the London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine, and the National Institute of Health and Medical Research at the University of Paris V. In 2012 she joined the Personal Social Services Research Unit at the LSE, where her work is focusing on economic aspects of policy and practice in the mental health and mental disabilities areas. Her research interests lie in global mental health policy and mental disabilities, both in developed and developing countries.
