Research Interests

Dr Linda Pickard is an Associate Professorial Research Fellow at the Personal Social Services Research Unit at the London School of Economics (LSE). Linda's research is primarily concerned with unpaid care provided by family or friends to people with long-term care needs. Linda is currently leading a research project funded by the School for Social Care Research, entitled 'Overcoming Barriers: Unpaid Care and Employment'.

Linda has, in collaboration with colleagues at the LSE and elsewhere, conducted research on projections of unpaid care in future in the UK and internationally. Linda has also completed work on unpaid care for the Office for National Statistics, the Audit Commission and the Royal Commission on Long Term Care.

Linda has a PhD in Social Policy from the LSE, an MPhil in Sociology from the University of Oxford and a BA (Hons) in Social & Political Science from the University of Cambridge.
