InterestsCatherine has a BSc in Occupational Therapy from the University of Toronto and an MSc in Health Policy, Planning and Finance from the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine and the London School of Economics. She works as a research officer at the Personal Social Services unit within LSE Health and Social Care. Her research interests include Intermediate Care, social care outcomes for older people, residential care provision, and resource allocation within residential and nursing homes. Prior to taking her Master's degree she worked as an Occupational Therapist in both NHS and Social Services settings in the UK and before that in health and community rehabilitation in Canada. Currently she is a member of research teams carrying out the National Evaluation of Innovation Forum: Health of Older People, and the National Evaluation Of Partnerships For Older People Projects. An important focus of both projects is to promote interventions aimed at improving quality of life in order to reduce the unscheduled use of acute hospital bed days by older people.
