Form one: Standard not-for-profit use of ASCOT

SCT4 four-level self-completion tool

A four-level self-completion instrument that measures current SCRQoL in community settings. It is suitable for use in surveys and can be preference-weighted.

INT4 four-level interview tool

A four-level interview instrument that measures current and expected SCRQoL in community settings. It can be used to measure the impact services have on service users’ outcomes (gain). It is suitable for face-to-face interviews and can be preference-weighted.

A four-level self-report version for family/friend (unpaid) carers that measures current carer SCRQoL in community settingsIt is suitable for use in surveys, and is now preference-weighted.

The ASCOT-Easy Read tool for use with adults with intellectual disabilities and Autism

A four-level self-completion Easy Read tool (ASCOT SCT4 Easy Read) that measures current SCRQoL, designed specifically for people with intellectual disabilities and/or autism. The tool has been cognitively tested with service users and is being piloted for psychometric testing. It is suitable for use in surveys but is not preference-weighted. We currently do not licence this version for use with older adults with Dementia.

The ASCOT-Proxy tools

A four-level proxy-report version for completion by, typically, family/friend carers, on behalf of the service user. It measures current SCRQoL in community settings and is suitable for use in surveys. It may be used with preference weights, however, currently only the SCT4 weights are available. A syntax file is also available upon request to the ASCOT team (ascot@kent.ac.uk).
