Shared Lives is where an individual who needs support moves in with or regularly visits an approved Shared Lives carer with whom they have been matched for compatibility with. The Shared Lives Growth project has been funded by the Big Lottery to build demand and supply for Shared Lives, whilst protecting the safety, quality and values of Shared Lives. In recognition that building the evidence base and spreading learning and impact is a key element to this, Shared Lives Plus commissioned the Personal Social services Research Unit (PSSRU) at the University of Kent to conduct an evaluation of the project.
The research will examine outcomes for people using Shared Lives. It will also examine the implementation and progress of Shared Lives Plus and the Growth Project. Methods include surveys, secondary data analysis and desk-based reviews.
